Prog Legends MAGMA Tour The U.S. in March
A legendary French group if ever there was one, MAGMA has continued to influence the course of contemporary music since their debut in 1969. Claimed by the prog-rock movement, the band actually combines the energy of rock, trance, jazz and classical influences (ranging from Bartok to Carl Orff) into a unique musical structure. MAGMA embarked on a world tour in 2014-2015 that saw them performing for three generations of fans, at the same time launching a series of reissues and unreleased recordings on Jazz Village.
In celebration of their astounding live shows, Jazz Village also released "Kohnzert Zünd" - a twelve disc, comprehensive collection of live recordings, housed in a unique custom-made boxed set. The set includes two previously unreleased albums.
This spring, MAGMA returns to tour the U.S. with cellist Helen Money, performing in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and many other cities. The group also has a crowdfunded documentary in the works, entitled "The Music of Magma".
