Raphaël Imbert Presents "Music Is My Home" with Leyla McCalla, Big Ron Hunter and More
On "Music Is My Home - Act 1", out February 5 on Jazz Village, Raphaël Imbert performs alongside emblematic musicians (Big Ron Hunter, Alabama Slim), Leyla McCalla, Sarah Quintana and young up-and-coming French stars like Anne Paceo. The French saxophonist takes on the role of a top notch ethnomusicologist, escorting us along the roads of the American deep south. Along with an unparalleled groove, Imbert provides his special insight into the roots of blues, jazz and soul. A "Prologue" EP of "Music Is My Home", a 10" collector's edition vinyl, is already available on Jazz Village.
"With Imbert's knowledge of groove second to none, he reaches the roots of blues – and jazz and soul are never far away. The record of encounters, Music Is My Home, is like a voyage of initiation exploring music both eternal and modern."
